CORONAVIRUS: Impact on Tax Season

March 16, 2020

In the past few weeks we have started to feel the impact of the Coronavirus Pandemic (COVID-19) here on the East Coast.  As much is still unknown about how this will affect our lives, it’s hard to say how much will be impacted and for how long.

Nothing is more important to us at Faw Casson than the safety and health of our clients and staff.  As such, we would like to remind our clients that it is not necessary for you to physically bring your tax documents into our office in order for our team to complete your return(s) timely.

There are several options to get your documents to us.  You may use to USPS, UPS or FedEx to get your documents delivered to us or any delivery service that offers a trackable option so we can assure its safe arrival.  We highly recommend using the Certified Mail via USPS as a signature is required for delivery.

If you’d prefer to send them to us electronically, our secure portal is available to all of our clients.  You may scan your documents in using a scanner or a PDF maker app on your phone, and then upload them to your personal, secure folder on our portal:  https://www.fawcasson.com/portal.htm .  If you need any assistance in how to use our portal, please don’t hesitate to contact our offices.   If you can’t remember your login information, please click the “trouble logging in” link below the logon fields.

Additionally, if you’d like to talk to someone phone conferences or video conferences can be arranged. Our commitment to the level of service our clients receive will not be impacted.

If the spread of this virus does escalate, forcing our offices to shut down, please be aware that all Faw Casson employees have the ability to work remotely.  Any disruption to our ability to physically be in our offices WILL NOT impact our ability to have your tax returns, payrolls, and other projects completed prior to deadlines.

Please review these precautions to help reduce the spread of this virus:
  • Avoid close contact with people that are sick;
  • If you are engaging with anyone, please wash your hands or use hand sanitizer directly after the interaction is over;
  • Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when coughing and sneezing;
  • Wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds to help protect from germs;
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth;
  • Wash hands or use sanitizer after handling anything coming from an outside source;
  • Clean and disinfect surfaces that are frequently touched by others;
  • Practice general good health habits such as getting plenty of sleep, drinking plenty of fluids and eating nutritious foods.

    We appreciate your continued trust in our firm.  Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions or concerns.
